P. T. F. E.

P.T.F.E. is a Fluoropolymer with a molecular structure, formed by atoms of carbon and fluorine.
The main properties of P.T.F.E. are:

  • HEAT RESISTANCE: it can withstand temperatures between +360°C and -265°C
  • RESISTANCE TO SOLVENTS
  • CHEMICAL INERTNESS: towards quite all chemical products (except for some molten alkali metals and fluorine)
  • NO-HYGROSCOPICITY: moisture doesn’t provoke any swelling of P.T.F.E.
  • SELF-LUBRICATION: generally it doesn’t need any lubricant
  • ANTI-STICKNESS: no material firmly sticks to it
  • RESISTANCE TO AGEING
  • BIOCOMPATIBILITY AND SUITABILITY WITH FOOD
  • GOOD THERMAL INSULATION: it has good electrical and dielectrical properties

The already excellent performance of this product can be further increased by intervening on the
molecular structure in the polymerization phase obtaining second generation or modified PTFE.
This product presents a denser molecular structure and is therefore less porous, with less distortion
under stress, more elongation on traction and superior transparency. We also produce compounds, in order to increase the properties and the characteristics of p.t.f.e.
